In February 2017, we were given the chance to transform the Level 6 rooftop Atrium Garden of the Sydney Adventist Hospital (SAH).

Initially suggested by Alpine Nurseries and SAH volunteers, we were thrilled with the opportunity to help with the revamp of the rooftop.

At Landart, we believe that gardens and nature can have deeply valuable, therapeutic and restorative benefits on the physical and mental wellbeing of a person and were excited to work together with SAH on a renovation rescue project.

Alongside the team at Alpine Nurseries, Martins Fertilisers and Garden at Night, we placed together considered elements that worked to maximise the function and aesthetic value of the area.

Inspired by the harmonious integration of built and planting elements in our past landscaping projects, we wanted to ensure that our ‘land meets art’ principle rang true. Purpose built seating, an open plan design, natural light and specially chosen foliage were just a few of the key components we used to complement one another in order to create a natural haven for the SAH cancer patients and their friends and families.

This was truly a wonderful project to work on and we hope that the refurbished rooftop provides the SAH patients with a safe and uplifting escape from their treatment.
